The reels feature an extra-wide and sufficiently long spool. The difference lies not in the diameter but in the line capacity. However, it’s important to note that a large spool alone is not enough! The fishing rod on which it is mounted must have a large butt guide, positioned farther from the reel. This ensures that the line runs off the spool and through the guides with almost no resistance.

Thanks to the large spool, line retrieval is also impressive: nearly 100 cm of line can be wound in with a single turn of the handle, making it effortless to reel in rigs cast to long distances. In addition, the reels are equipped with a rounded metal line clip, which comes in especially handy under competition conditions.

Many anglers use baitrunner reels on their feeder rods, though in many cases this is not necessary or ideal. Things are much simpler with a reel like the Carp Expert Score models, whose drag can be adjusted between almost completely loose and strong fighting tension with just one and a half turns. The drag system is highly precise and can be finely tuned to suit almost any line diameter.

The Score reels house their drive system in the same extra-strong yet lightweight graphite body already known from other Carp Expert models, offering both durability and smooth operation. The reels feature precise wormshaft oscillation, ensuring that line lays evenly on the spool.
